Susan Boyle, the Scottish singer who captivated the world with her performance of "I Dreamed a Dream" on Britain's Got Talent in 2009, made a triumphant return to the show for the 2023 final. In a heartfelt moment, she revealed to presenters Ant and Dec that she had fallen ill in April 2022.
"I had a little bit of a fright," Boyle said. "I got really unwell, I had a bad reaction to some medication. I had to go to the hospital for a few days, but I'm feeling much better now."
Boyle's appearance on Britain's Got Talent was her first since she auditioned in 2009 and finished second in the competition. Her return was a poignant reminder of her journey from obscurity to stardom.
Boyle's performance on Sunday was met with a standing ovation from the audience. She sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" and received praise from the judges for her powerful vocals and emotional delivery.
